Bank Transfer at iLOTBet

Bank transfer

Mobile money handles the everyday top-up in Kenya, but a bank account still matters at the moment a larger sum has to come back. Electronic funds transfer is one of the channels the Gambling Control Act 2025 names for receiving a player's money (s.73(4)), alongside mobile money, debit cards and cash deposits. Whether the iLOTBet cashier offers a bank route to your account — and on what terms — is shown only there. The set of methods and limits depends on your account — check the iLOTBet cashier.

How to deposit by bank transfer

A bank deposit usually starts in the cashier, not in your banking app. Choose the bank option, enter the amount, and the cashier either redirects you to your bank's own approval page or displays transfer details: the receiving account, and a payment reference that links the money to your player account. Copy that reference exactly into the narrative field of your transfer. Without it, the receiving side sees an anonymous credit and has to match it by hand, which is slow at best.

Bank credits move on banking schedules. A transfer sent late on a Friday can sit until the next working day, while one approved through an instant online-banking page tends to show sooner. If you are funding a session tonight, a bank route is rarely the quickest choice — a mobile wallet such as M-Pesa usually is.

Withdrawals to a bank account

Where the cashier offers bank payouts, you add your account details once: bank name, branch where relevant, account number and the account holder's name. That name has to match your iLOTBet profile and your ID document — national ID card or passport — letter for letter, or the payout is returned or held. Larger amounts are where bank withdrawals earn their place: a mobile wallet has its own transaction and balance ceilings set by the wallet provider, so a big win may simply not fit into one mobile payout.

Remember that two separate waits are involved. The operator approves the request first; only then does the bank leg start. For licensees the law sets one firm point — a monetary online win must be credited to your casino account within two days (s.70(1)). The time a payout then spends in transit is not set by that rule.

Your statement as proof of payment

A bank transfer leaves the best paper trail of any method, and that helps during verification. When a compliance team asks for proof that a deposit came from you, a statement page showing your name, the date, the amount and the reference usually settles it in one go. Download it as a PDF from online banking rather than photographing a screen, and do not crop away the account holder line — that line is the whole point.

Fees and the excise line

Your bank may charge for the outgoing transfer, and the casino side may show its own charge on the confirmation screen; read both before you approve. Separately, Kenyan law levies a 5% excise duty on amounts credited to a betting or gaming wallet, collected by the operator, so a cashier that applies it credits less than you sent. On payouts we quote no tax rate: official sources currently disagree on how withdrawals are taxed, so rely on the figure the cashier states.

Working days and cut-offs

Banks process in batches and observe public holidays. A request approved by the operator just after a bank's daily cut-off can wait overnight even though nothing is wrong. If a bank payout has not arrived, check the operator's status first — "approved" or "sent" — before you call your bank; the bank can only trace money that has actually been released.

Account safety

Never share online-banking codes with anyone who contacts you about a deposit or a "stuck" payout. Real support staff need the payment reference and the amount — not your login, PIN or one-time passwords. Turn on two-step verification for the gaming account too, so a stolen password cannot be used to change your payout account.
