How to deposit at iLOTBet
Topping up an iLOTBet account takes a couple of minutes, and most of that time is spent on your phone approving the payment. This guide shows how to deposit from Kenya step by step, how each deposit method is usually confirmed, what decides the minimum deposit, and why the balance sometimes shows a smaller number than the amount you sent. The set of methods and limits depends on your account — check the iLOTBet cashier. For each method in detail, see the payment methods hub.
Go to iLOTBetDeposit steps
- Log in and open the cashier's deposit section. If the account is new, finish the profile first: the name you register must match the name on your mobile-money line, card or bank account.
- Read the method list. Note the minimum and maximum shown for the method you want, and whether it can also be used to withdraw.
- Enter the amount and confirm — on your handset for mobile money, with your bank's code for a card, in your banking app for a transfer.
- Wait for the cashier's success message, then compare the credited amount with what left your wallet or account.
| Method | How you usually confirm | What to check first | Guide |
|---|---|---|---|
| M-Pesa | PIN prompt on the phone, or business number and account reference | Correct reference; line in your name | M-Pesa guide |
| Airtel Money | PIN request on the handset or payment from the Airtel menu | Correct number format; enough balance | Airtel Money guide |
| Visa debit | One-time code or banking-app approval | Debit card, not credit | Visa guide |
| Mastercard debit | One-time code or banking-app approval | Online payments enabled by the bank | Mastercard guide |
| Bank transfer | Bank's approval page or transfer with a reference | Reference copied exactly | Bank transfer guide |
| Bitcoin | Network confirmations | Address and network match | Bitcoin guide |
This table describes how each route generally works in Kenyan cashiers. It does not say which routes iLOTBet shows to your account, and it carries no fees or amounts — those are the operator's and appear in the cashier.
Minimum deposit and minimum stake are different things
The minimum deposit is the smallest top-up a method accepts, and the cashier sets it per method, so mobile money and a bank transfer can have different floors. The minimum stake is something else: Kenyan law sets the minimum online stake at 20 shillings (Gambling Control Act 2025, s.71). In other words, a licensed game cannot take a bet below KSh 20, whatever the deposit floor is. A small first deposit is still a sensible test — you see how the confirmation works and how long the credit takes before you commit more.
Why the balance can be lower than the payment
Since 1 July 2025 Kenya charges a 5% excise duty on the amount credited to a betting or gaming wallet, and the operator collects it; the Finance Act 2026 kept that rate. Before the change, the duty was 15% of the stake. If the iLOTBet cashier applies it, a top-up of KSh 1,000 would be credited as less than KSh 1,000, and the transaction history should show the deduction. Check this after your first deposit so the difference does not come as a surprise later.
Credit speed
An instant deposit is the norm for mobile money and cards once you approve the payment: the cashier receives a confirmation and updates the balance. Bank transfers follow bank processing, and Bitcoin waits for network confirmations. If you are deciding how to fund account balances for a single evening, a mobile wallet is usually the least fuss; for a larger, planned top-up a bank route gives the cleaner record.
Good to know
- Deposits must come from a line, card or account in your own name; payments from third parties are typically refused or frozen at the first withdrawal.
- Betting on credit is not allowed in Kenya — use a debit card, never a credit card.
- Set a deposit limit when you open the account. Licensees must offer daily, weekly and monthly limits; see responsible gambling.
- A bonus usually has its own qualifying amount and wagering rules; read the bonus page before depositing for one.
After depositing: play and withdraw
Once the balance updates, it can be used across the lobby. When you want to cash out, the withdrawal guide explains the checks. Payouts generally return by the route you used to deposit, so the method you pick today shapes how you are paid tomorrow.
If a deposit hasn't shown up
Do not resend the same amount. First check your mobile-money messages or bank app: if the money never left, simply try again. If it did leave, collect the transaction code, the amount and the time, and send them to the operator's support — that code is how a specific payment is traced. A wrong account reference, an expired prompt or an amount below the method's minimum are the usual culprits.
Deposit methods appear in the cashier in the order the operator sets, and the list can change with your account status. Mobile-money and card routes are typically the instant deposit options; bank and crypto routes take longer by their nature.
