M-Pesa at iLOTBet: Deposits, Payouts and Checks
For most people in Kenya the phone is the wallet, so the first question about any betting brand is whether its cashier takes M-Pesa. This page does not answer that on iLOTBet's behalf — we cannot see your account, and the operator decides which methods each account is shown. What it does is explain what an M-Pesa option looks like when it is there, how a top-up is normally confirmed, and which details decide whether money moves smoothly in both directions. The set of methods and limits depends on your account — check the iLOTBet cashier.

What to look for in the cashier
Log in, open the deposit screen and read the method list before typing any amount. An M-Pesa route may appear under its own name, or inside a broader button labelled "mobile money". Next to it you should see the minimum and maximum for a single top-up and, ideally, a note on whether the same route also works for payouts. If none of this is shown, treat the route as unconfirmed and ask support before sending anything.
Kenyan law lists mobile money transfer among the ways a licensed operator may receive a player's funds, alongside debit cards, electronic funds transfer and cash deposits (Gambling Control Act 2025, s.73(4)). That tells you the channel is legitimate in principle. It does not tell you that any particular brand holds a Kenyan licence — that is a separate check, described on our iLOTBet review.
How an M-Pesa deposit is usually confirmed
Cashiers in Kenya tend to use one of two styles. In the first, you enter your phone number and the amount, and a prompt appears on your handset asking for your M-Pesa PIN; once you approve it, the cashier waits for the confirmation and then updates the balance. In the second, the cashier shows a business number and an account reference, and you complete the payment yourself from the M-Pesa menu. Either way, the reference matters: a payment sent without the right account reference is the most common reason a top-up lands nowhere.
Keep the confirmation message your mobile-money service sends, with its transaction code, until the balance has updated. That code is what support will ask for if something goes wrong.
Why the balance can show less than you sent
Since 1 July 2025 Kenya charges a 5% excise duty on the amount credited to a betting or gaming wallet, collected by the operator (Finance Act 2025; the Finance Act 2026 kept the 5% rate). Before that change the duty was 15% of the stake. A cashier that applies the duty will therefore credit less than left your M-Pesa. Compare the two figures after your first top-up; if they differ, the transaction history should name the deduction. If it does not, ask support to explain the gap in writing.
Withdrawing to M-Pesa
If the cashier offers M-Pesa for payouts, the money normally goes back to the same number you deposited from, and that line should be registered in the same name as your iLOTBet account. A mismatch — a relative's line, a business till, a number registered to someone else — is the classic reason a first withdrawal stalls. Before any first payout, expect identity verification with your national ID card or passport, and proof that you are over 18: Kenyan law requires a licensee to confirm age before registration and again before paying out a prize (s.72(3), s.70(6)).
Two timings are often confused. The law requires a licensee to credit a monetary online win to the player's account within two days (s.70(1)); that is the casino balance, not your phone. How long the payout then takes to reach M-Pesa depends on the operator's review queue and is shown, if at all, in the cashier. No withdrawal tax rate is quoted here: official sources currently disagree, so check the figure the cashier shows before you confirm.
When an M-Pesa payment goes wrong
A prompt that never arrives, an expired prompt, an insufficient balance or a wrong PIN all end the same way: no money moves, and you can simply try again. The awkward case is money that left your line but did not reach the balance. Do not resend the same amount. Send support the transaction code, the time and the amount; they can trace it. If the operator cannot settle the matter, a licensed operator's customers can complain to the Gambling Regulatory Authority, and disputes from online gambling can be appealed to the Gambling Appeals Tribunal within 14 days (s.80). Our complaints guide walks through the order of steps.
Keep it within a budget
A mobile wallet makes topping up almost frictionless, which is exactly why a deposit limit is worth setting on day one. Kenyan regulations require licensees to offer daily, weekly and monthly deposit limits and other real-time tools; see responsible gambling for how to use them.
